• Medical Aesthetician: 2 years (preferred) 
• High School diploma along with a valid Esthetician’s certification 
• Proven work experience as an Esthetician

• Experience working on Fitz Patrick III, IV, V & VI including but not limited to facials, chemical peels, derma-needling, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, body treatments etc. 
• Deep knowledge of skin care and skin care techniques

• Ability to make a client feel comfortable

• Blood Borne Pathogen Certification

• Experience with: Manicures and Pedicures; Eyebrow shaping (waxing & threading), lamination and tinting; Eyelash lift and Eyelash tint; Waxing; Laser hair removal; and/or Body Contouring 

• Perform spa services following The Melanin Studio Ltd’s protocols to deliver high-quality treatments.

• Conduct thorough skin assessments to evaluate each client’s condition and provide tailored advice on skincare, contraindications, treatment plans, and personalized skincare regimens.

• Expertly perform advanced skin care procedures on Fitzpatrick skin types III, IV, V, and VI, including but not limited to chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion.

• Set up and break down treatment rooms, ensuring all sanitation, laundry, and housekeeping protocols are followed, including proper sanitization of all tools and equipment between clients.

• Prepare the spa for daily operations, including opening, closing, and maintaining readiness between appointments.

• Report maintenance and repair needs promptly to management.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all skincare products sold at The Melanin Studio Ltd and their benefits.

• Educate and recommend retail products and home care regimens tailored to clients’ specific concerns.

• Utilize The Melanin Studio Ltd’s online booking system to schedule, adjust, or cancel client appointments and manage administrative tasks as needed.

• Assist with answering phones and client inquiries when required.

• Represent the brand professionally at trade shows, expos, and events alongside teammates to attract and engage new clients.

• Ensure meticulous attention to cleanliness, maintaining a professional and orderly work environment.

• Provide exceptional client care, building rapport through friendly conversations and a positive demeanor.

• Maintain a polished, business-appropriate appearance.

• Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and readiness for each workday, maintaining a strong attendance record.

• Take initiative, effectively solve problems, and offer creative solutions.

• Stay adaptable to evolving trends, advancements in skincare science, and new treatment procedures.
